Every summer, he leaves me for four weeks to spend time with his bio-dad. I spend the first few days manically trying to stay busy so I don’t think about it, and then the next two weeks pretty much fly by, with few phone calls or text messages from either side. I know he’s having fun, and I want him to have fun, so I let him do his thing. Plus, he’s getting older and maybe doesn’t need to be called by his mom three times a day. Then, somewhere around the “two week”...

Really, this is all about the conservatives, so liberals, please grab your lattes and go sit under the great Socialist umbrella near the pool. President Obama reversed the restrictions on stem cell research today. Nancy Reagan supports his decision. Does that seem strange? Its the lines that are blurring as politics crosses over into personal experience, and in this case, the possibility of saving another person from a debilitating disease. I even wrote a short story about it. Its about 20 ft x...

Today, I looked forward to two whole hours of time in which I could work on my sites and begin to finalize my plans for the semester. I have found, indeed, that two hours is enough to get things...

Because I really, really care that much about football My house has been invaded by 5 more people and I’ve been playing the whole “Big Love” arrangement out in my mind as the 3 “wives” scramble to cook, tend to the kids, drink, check in at school and just function together in harmony. Its actually great in so many ways. I would likely be a fabulous polygamist, and I’m ok with admitting that. Its more about having the “village” than anything, because...
