I am leaving! I’m dragging the three younglings and Freedom on my now-infamous summer tour. No more home Internet issues, no more DC blast furnace (I’m trading that for the Arkansas blast furnace) and I get to see people and get the fuck out of Stepford.

In theory, I’ll be back. Its tempting to just stay on the road forever, but I’m pretty sure I cannot accomplish homeschooling in a mini-van.

Its not that I don’t like Northern Virginia. I love the diversity, and that I can check into about 50 places on foursquare just by sitting at home, because I’m that close to commercial establishments. (For the record, I will be mayor of the closest bar, and yes, I’m going to cheat my way there.) The more time goes, the more I am just pining away for an actual yard, a house that isn’t attached to two others, and the ability to look up and be mesmerized by the stars again.

Blah.

So, road trip! Time to plan the packing, the hotels, and everything else this will entail. Time to put the job hunt on vacation and hope that when I return, the world will make sense again. Time to go back to the beagle home land, laugh at the locals, hang with my Sapphire, see my grandmother and relax. Hopefully, this time will be without lice.

Yes, I’m still checking their heads.

SOTM!

Great minds think alike. On the road again, just can’t wait to get on the road again…Me and the boys (and not Willie Nelson and the band) hit the road yesterday for Taos…eventually. Wrote about my love for road trips yesterday on my blog, although the first five hours of the trip from San Diego to Flagstaff ain’t all that hot…actually it is which is part of the problem. The other part is the desert is so blah and I’m usually a big fan but not the desert from El Centro to Phoenix. Bluck. Got to go…see you on the open road.
