On Monday, I was greeted on Facebook by the name of an ex. He was the boy I was going to move to Oklahoma to be with, upon I deciding I was in love with him after a terribly stalkerish romantic Thanksgiving weekend during which his mother probably put vooodoo curses on me or peed in my turkey gravy (I think she was serious about me sleeping on the couch… oops.).For the record, I “fall in love” very easily, and can name at least 4 other people during that year and a half I said I loved. Dipshit (names changed to protect the innocent) was different. He was “the one.” Probably because he made me chase him, or because he was a Pisces… or I was just high… a lot.
Seeing his name still stings a bit. He is one of three people in the world to ever break my heart… and I have a LOT of exes. Due to my boyfriend ADD extravaganza throughout my teens and early 20′s, seeing the name of an ex isn’t uncommon (I should probably make a blog category just for these occasions). Most of the time, I get all happy and nostalgic (nostalgia sucks!) when I see the name of someone I once cared about. Sometimes, its harder, even years later, especially if that person was someone who was a cornerstone of your life (for like a month, but, whatever). I quit college for this guy, more or less, and my life took such a crazy turn after that, I’m still trying to catch up. Bastard. Ahem.
*Moving on…taking responsibility for own actions… practicing forgiveness… unclenching jaw…*
The last thing I do before I go to sleep is make sure the alarm on my phone is set, which means I see if I have any new text/Facebook/Twitter notifications. Last night, I did, indeed have a notification message… from another ex of mine (of the same era as the heart breaker) wanting to be my Facebook friend.
*Giggle*
Its my fault, you see. I played Fugazi the other day, out of nowhere, and I conjured him back into my life. Even if its just my Facebook life. He and I were an odd couple – he liked “healthy,” blondish girls, and I got naked for boys with guitars even if they weren’t all that good. The relationship didn’t last long, and I spent the next year simultaneously laughing at his next girlfriends, befriending them, and scaring them with evil grins over buffets serving mashed potatoes. Not necessarily in that order, and none of them were blondish, come to think of it.We later lived together with two of my other exes in this tiny house. Platonically. Well, he and I were. ADD!
I believe that brings my “ex count” in this blog to four. Four exes! WA-HA-HA!
What’s the lesson here?
Exes are fun to blog about, and I have a lot of them. The End.

It’s hard seeing the “one that got away”, I know that all to well. BUT everything happens for a reason, well I think so anyways.

Meh, he’s just one of many that got away. Like fish in a barrel, really.

I like most of mine, so its usually not an issue. Its kind of funny to see all of our “mutual” friends befriend him, and his face popping up as a suggested friend. Will he friend me? Won’t he? Will I get another blog out of this?

I’m amazed you’ve managed to make it through the week without pickling yourself in vodka and curling up in the fetal position.

They are exs for a reason. Even if you like most of them. I had a few of my own, I’m just glad that none of them have found me yet.

Montel always said that. They’re an “ex” for a reason, and its so true… most of the time.

They are indeed exes for a reason…lol. I don’t have FB and that is probably a good thing! I am impressed at how well you dealt with this.
