On the wall I face at my kitchen desk, there is a 2009 “Treasure Map” that I created last April as an exercise in manifestation, and because its kind of fun. You paste photos of what you want to bring into your life, your treasures, and watch them come true.

My treasures were things like “adventure,” “memories,” and “wisdom,” among other fun stuff, including the success of my projects (or, maybe the dismissal of their importance). Truly, 2009 was an incredible year for me, and I can only hope that 2010 will be even better.

My adventures were probably the highlight. From the out-of-town trips to PA and VA beach, the spiritual retreat in March, a Renaissance-theme wedding, the lice-infested road trip over the summer, the Equality March, Ren Fest, Six Flags, Kamping and all of the local events I hosted, I was rarely bored or without something new to plan. I reconnected with a few very important people (here and here oh, and in DE), met some new friends who will continue to amuse me in 2010, and continued to grow with my sisters on HippyMom. Wow, that was a lot of shit.

2009 also had its downside, don’t get me wrong. I didn’t graduate like I was hoping (but what’s another four months?) and I came to some crushing realizations about relationships in my family, which I will likely bemoan later. Thankfully, I have some of the most fabulous friends I can lean on, when I’m not strong…they’ll help me carry on, yo.

2010 will bring new challenges, like how I am going to spend my time after I do graduate, without creating a bunch of new websites. Will I really be able to run a business, and not just play at it? The Twitches will start Kindergarten in fall (I’m 99% sure), and Talker will head into 7th grade (cry) while Enigma battles the 4th grade beast. The Husband will begin a new job, and I… well, I may actually have my shit together. Or not. Only time will tell. Time to start filling up the calendar!
