Hahaha, made you look!

There is this “Five Year Plan” concept thrown around in my world. Have a plan. Five years from now, where do you want to be? How are you going to get there? I ask the same questions of my members on HippyMom. If you aren’t happy today, what can you do to change it, and where do you want to be in five years?

I admit, I haven’t made my plan. I’m a “do as I say, not as I do” kind of girl. Some may call me a slacker, I like to think I’m just keeping my options open.

Ok, not good enough. I get that. You want a list, and my Virgo is happy to provide that on this early Sunday morning.

Melia’s Five Year Plan List of Stuff to Accomplish!

1. Finish Degree – BA in Women’s Studies.
2. Reiki Master
3. Postpartum Doula Certification (totally digging the vagina, no pun intended).
4. Teach classes/workshops for postpartum care, breastfeeding, women’s healing, life coaching.
5. Continue current online endeavors.
6. Find bigger house. Move. Decorate. Seriously.
7. Write and take writing classes.
8. Scout out locations for permanent healing center. Figure out how to procure such a place. May require visiting bed and breakfast establishments (damn, that sucks).
9. Attend workshops for women.
10. Perform belly dance at least once.
11. Volunteer in Domestic Violence shelter.

I’m sure there is more I should add. Five years is a long time to plan for. In two years, my youngest kids will be in first grade, which gives me a lot of time to work… and very little extra childcare expenses. Until then, I have nothing but time to enjoy them and time to get my own self together. The call to be able to support my family in the event of a catastrophe is constantly nagging at me, and it has been the biggest catalyst in the search for “me” over the past years.

I guess now the only question I have is what is your “five year plan”?
