Abundance, eh?

Many years ago, I was pretty much a homebody. I enjoyed my time out, mind you, but I didn’t do much beyond the occasional dinner or waiting in line to pick up a child from school. I kind of miss those days, because if I didn’t want to get dressed, I didn’t have to. Yes, I was that woman. I’m still that woman, only now I am constantly on the go.

Four kids will do that to you, I suppose. Plus, study time and a few other work-related projects that require me to walk out into the open world with an eyebrow cocked and a bag full of snacks/glasses cases/notebooks/bandaids/sticky notes/pens/etc.

Have I mentioned how much I abhor purses? With this new hyperactive life comes the acknowledgment that I have to have one big purse or two smaller, yet still just as full bags with me at all times. My personal stuff, like my license and bank card, they fit in a small wallet that even has a pocket for my SlackBerry. But, all of the other cack I have to carry around for the kids has to accompany me much of the day. I hate purses. They suck. Not my Skullys, though. They make me happy ;)

I digress, as usual. This is really about the schedule I’ve got going on and how I am not only amazed at the fact that I can cram 600 things into a day, and still have time for olives, sex or some strange combination of each (no, ladies and gents, its only the olives that are daily, I’m not a freaking SuperTart). How is it that in two short years, I’ve gone from recluse to MiniVanMom and/or… um… SuperTart? Have I mentioned, yet, that after this summer of unschooling, I have a total new respect for my ability to actually be prepared for all of this scheduling? I’m in a little bit of awe, but that’s been swept away by the sheer mental exhaustion of this week so far. Fortunately, I haven’t added PTA ventures… yet.

Not that I’d do that.

When it rains, it pours… and now I kind of get why there are Starbucks everywhere. Its so we can keep going, even if its just to the next Starbucks.
