Nobody got hurt.
It was a three day weekend, full of fear and trepidation. How will we entertain ourselves, what will we eat? When will Melia get a chance to paint her toenails?
I actually had the weekend planned out. Pool on Friday, Zoo on Saturday then off to fireworks and Sunday we’d go back to the pool. The weather, however, is really strange right now and so we decided at the last minute to haul our behinds to Baltimore on Friday, since it wasn’t quite warm enough for my kids to swim.
Penguins, as you know, are generally cold-weather animals… unless they’re African Penguins. The Enigma (and his awesome mohawk) loves him some penguins and after seeing them at the Richmond Zoo last year, I have been promising to take him to Maryland to see those penguins. Richmond African penguins are obviously much different than Baltimore African penguins.

So, I was being a dork and posing on all of the statues I could find. My Venus in Leo is getting the best of me lately, but whatever. I saw the turtle and… well… after this really cute shot, just know that I slowly slid off and my back still hurts a bit.

On Saturday, we went to a local “Old Fashioned 4th of July” thing where they had a band who sang Tom Petty songs and there were some cute games and other activities for the kids (which we avoided by waiting in line for pony rides).
I have tasked The Husband with being my photographer, since he owns 400 cameras and I need photos for a new project coming up. Plus, it gives him a reason to use his talent for good, not evil, and the number of cleavage shots (of me and my friends) has proportionately decreased in relation to the sheer amount of photos the man takes now. That’s not to say it doesn’t still happen. I was just looking through this weekend’s stash of pics and found this pic of a rabbit. Uh huh. Its all about the bunny.

I think there was supposed to be more to do, but the siren song of Target was far too captivating to stay at the park and find out. Tarrrrrrrget….
Fast forward to me, The Husband and the 3 littles watching fireworks with my dear friend’s ex-husband and their son. Very strange, but interesting, nonetheless.
So, enough about me and my fabulously self-dyed, highlighted and cut hair. No, you don’t want to know that I did get to paint my toenails a lovely shade of electric blue. You want… oh yes… the Song of the Week!
Dedicated to… the rabbit.
