Its been one year since MeliaLore took off as my personal chronicle. I was dealing with some heavy issues about my own sexuality, childhood abuse and I had no idea where I was going, but I knew I needed to start writing again. The Q encouraged me to start the blog, and we all know I do whatever The Q says to do
Within a few months, after beginning my first semester back in school, I felt a change happen. I was no longer conflicted about myself as much, and I had insight after insight thrown at me in the form of books on psychology and sociology. I healed by learning (and with therapy), and the blog reflected my change, my personal goals of letting it be OK to be a quirky, feminist mom blogger with 200 children and a ton of underused computer skills. My abuse, my sexuality, my own life suddenly became less important in my mind, and I turned to just letting the energy take me where it would.
From there, well, the energy ebbs and flows and the direction changes a bit, but its always moving forward. Never, ever back. As Lissa Rankin would say, “I found my mojo” and MeliaLore.com is a huge part of that.
I can honestly say that for the first time in a long, long time, I have a direction in my life and it feels good. So, happy blogiversary to me! I’ve actually stuck to something that was just for me for an entire year! WOOT!
