Its Spring Break here in Melialand. Yesterday, it rained off and on all day, and I made slime and playdough for the kidlets, trying to stave off boredom and maybe give me 30 minutes to complete work/school/any logical thought beyond how much I hate Spring Break.

Today its a balmy 50 degrees. Well, that’s what its supposed to be. I’m waiting ever-so-patiently for Spring to actually BREAK and bring some long-awaited warmth into the DC area. Judging by the amounts of snow still falling across the country, I think its a lost cause. Yes, I realize those of you in colder climates are mentally wishing four of my fingers to fall off so I can look down and see you flipping me the bird by proxy, but this is my whine, and I plan to savor it. So, what will happen is that we will go from “too cold/windy for the playground” to ungodly hot, with a 30 minutes glimpse of the spring weather we deserve. We live surrounded by government and politicians, cut us a break, or at least send muffins.

This being “spring” in the real world, there is some sort of raging pollen that has decided it needs to camp out in my sinuses, causing nothing but a miserable flood of grossness and angst. I love pollen, and I’m unsure why it seems to have a grudge against me. I have half a mind to start beekeeping so I can make honey out of the pollen that hates me. That’ll show the pollen who is boss around here.

Since this is day two of Spring Break, and since day one went so well for me, The Husband decided to let our youngest two have control over his laptop from work. I am sitting here, watching Dozer Doodle learn the intricacies of using a mouse, kind of with pride and very much with horror. They are both naturally inclined, and while I don’t doubt the reason why, but its still a little strange. Thank Claude for Starfall. The Enigma is happily doing his big brother duty and showing them all the fun they can have, too, and he just asked me for his own laptop. Aye Carumba.

Sir Talks A Lot is safely sequestered in an undisclosed location outside of DC, being treated like the prince he believes himself to be. I’m jealous. Its probably really warm there right now.

Passion and zest. I began this blog with a purpose, which has since gone out the window as I remembered that I much prefer to talk about the weather, since its such a generic way of avoiding all work/school/logical thought.

Update! Its now snowing. WTF?
