It makes me sad…

I don’t think religion is necessarily a bad thing. Well, no, let me rephrase that. I don’t think faith is a bad thing. I am a strong believer in the power of manifestation, of belief in the self. I have faith in myself, so I cannot fault others who have faith in books, deities or other spiritual endeavors.

What makes me sad, however, is that the faith in the big religions is so powerfully wrong. What I’m learning, is that the words of prophets and saviors have been so twisted, altered and destroyed, that their true messages have been lost in the shuffle. There’s not even a bright side. There is no real voice of women in religion. There are snippets that have been authored by women, but those just reflect the society in which they were written. I have yet to come across a woman who has said, “yes, God is great, but those words are utter bullshit. This is really what was meant…”

The complacency drives me nuts, and the complacency is still rampant because “we” are so used to a certain manner of being.

If I was to choose between “reformer” and “revolutionary” regarding religion, I would have to pick “revolutionary.” We need to start over and re-write the Word (of whatever deity you prefer) to reflect its true message.
